11 May IN-KEY: launching a European survey to make international traineeships more inclusive
The project IN-KEY – Inclusive worK Experiences for Young Professionals, a European initiative coordinated by EuGen within the EU4EU network and co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, is launching a large-scale survey to analyse both the good practices and the barriers that limit access to international traineeships for students with fewer opportunities, particularly young people facing economic, social or disability-related barriers, as well as other conditions of vulnerability.
International traineeships are a key instrument for skills development and access to the European labour market. However, structural obstacles still prevent many young people from fully benefiting from these opportunities. IN-KEY aims to address these inequalities by promoting more inclusive and equitable models of international mobility.
A survey to build concrete solutions
The survey targets Host Organisations within the EU4EU network and aims to collect data on current Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) practices.
The information gathered will support:
- mapping inclusive practices across the network;
- identifying structural challenges and barriers;
- developing targeted tools and guidelines for Host Organisations;
- designing a shared European model for inclusive traineeships.
The contribution of organisations is therefore essential to develop practical and sustainable solutions at European level.
Opportunities for participating organisations
Organisations taking part in the survey will benefit from:
- access to a pathway towards an international certification in Diversity & Inclusion, recognised by the University of Lille and based on a shared European Quality Label;
- priority involvement in piloting the inclusive model developed by the IN-KEY project;
- enhanced European visibility, including the opportunity to participate as speakers—either in person or online—at the final project event in Brussels (November 2027), in the presence of representatives of the European Commission and international stakeholders.
Regardless of the level of development of their inclusion policies, participation also offers the opportunity to join a European network of organisations committed to promoting equal access to international mobility.
How to participate
The questionnaire takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.

Deadline: 8th June 2026
For organisations within the EU4EU network, completing the questionnaire is a mandatory requirement to participate in the next matching phase with trainees.
Through this initiative, IN-KEY aims to contribute to building a more equitable, accessible and inclusive Erasmus+ ecosystem, in line with European priorities on social inclusion and equal opportunities.
